Jana Waller Bair is a 'bone-afied' skull artist who beads and paints European skull mounts. Jana often donates these unique pieces of art to conservation organizations in order to raise money for the protection of herds, habitats, and our hunting heritage.
As a lifelong hunter and conservationist, Jana is a Wisconsin-native who currently resides in the Utah with her husband, renowned auctioneer John Bair . She was the co-producer and host of Skull Bound TV, which aired on The Sportsman Channel for nine years. Skull Bound TV was awarded the Outdoor Sportsman Group's Golden Moose Award for 'Best Conservation' show in 2019. She currently produces and hosts Skull Bound Chronicles on Carbon TV and Youtube and was voted Fan Favorite Best Host in 2019 & 2020. In 2022 Skull Bound Chronicles was awarded the CarbonTV Award for Best Show Open and Best Big Game Series. For 2023 her series was awarded Best In Cinematography and Best Host and in 2024 the show won Best Big Game Series. Jana has also co-hosted or appeared on numerous national television shows such as 'Invasion Of’ on Animal Planet, ‘Outfitter Bootcamp’ on The Outdoor Channel and numerous shows on The Sportsman Channel. She’s also a freelance outdoor writer and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Jana is a lifetime member of the Mule Deer Foundation, National Wild Turkey Federation, Wild Sheep Foundation and Safari Club International, and an annual member of the Sportsman For Fish and Wildlife, Pope & Young, American Bear Foundation, HOWL and the Sportsman Alliance. In 2015 she was awarded the prestigious “Communicator Of The Year” award by the National Wild Turkey Federation, and a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016 from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater for her work in promoting women in the outdoors and conservation. Jana served as a primary member on the Federal Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council in 2019 and was appointed by Montana's Governor Greg Gianforte to serve a term as a Montana Wildlife Commissioner in 2020. Along with being an ardent conservationist, Jana is dedicated to supporting veteran organizations. She is committed to getting veterans back into the woods and mountains for adventure, camaraderie and healing. Skull Bound Chronicles features many of their stories of courage and strength.
Many of Jana's painted or beaded Skulls are donated every year to raise money for conservation and veteran-related organizations. To date, she has personally raised over $210,000 for these distinguished organizations.
